Privacy Policy

Usage and technical information. When you make a request to our services, we record information about that request — what was requested, when, what was returned, and technical details your client sends about itself.

Identifiers we assign. We assign identifiers to connections and to accounts on our hosted services so that we can operate, secure, and measure them.

Information you choose to provide. Some of our features accept free text — search terms, a name you choose for your client, and reports about vendors. We receive whatever you put in those fields.

We do not request an email address, postal address, phone number, payment details, or precise location in order to use our services.

The free-text fields described above are chosen entirely by you. Please do not enter personal information into them.

We do not sell personal information. If you believe personal information about you has reached us, email us at [email protected] and we will remove it.

We use the information we collect to operate, secure, maintain, and improve our services; to measure and understand how they are used; to detect abuse; and to develop new features and products.

We publish and share aggregated and statistical information about our services, including traffic, demand, and recommendation data. We may sell such information. Before we publish or share data, we take reasonable measures to aggregate it or remove identifiers from it. No such measure is perfect, and we do not guarantee that data prepared this way can never be re-identified.

We do not publish account identifiers, credentials, or the identifiers we assign to individual connections.

If you send us a report about a vendor, we may share that report — including the free text and the name you chose — with the vendor it names. You are told this at the point of submission.

We use third-party providers for functions such as hosting, content delivery, storage, security, and analytics. Those providers process request and usage information on our behalf in order to deliver our services. We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, our users, or the security of our services.

We may use cookies and similar technologies to operate, secure, measure, and market our services, and to understand how our services are used. Where the law requires your consent for a particular use, we will ask for it and give you a way to withdraw it.

We process IP addresses to route, secure, rate-limit, and measure requests. Where we measure, an address is reduced to a short-lived hash that is held in memory, used to tell one client from another, and discarded when the server restarts. We keep the resulting counts, not the addresses.

Our hosting and network providers process IP addresses to deliver the service.

Our services are designed to be used by software agents as well as by people. We do not exclude automated clients from the information we collect or from what we publish.

We retain the information described in this policy for as long as it is useful for the purposes described, and longer where we are required to.

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the date below.
