This Week in Developer Pricing

1 new one added, 1 limit reduced, 1 limit increased across 4 developer tool pricing changes

1 new free tier1 limit reduced1 limit increased

Biggest Losses (1)

reduced Firebase Cloud Storage
Cloud Storage for Firebase now requires the pay-as-you-go Blaze plan, in effect from February 3, 2026. Projects on the no-cost Spark plan lose access to all Cloud Storage buckets, including default buckets; console access redirects to an upgrade page and API calls return 402 or 403. Provisioning a new default bucket also requires Blaze.

Bright Spots (2)

new Cloudflare Cloud IaaS
Queues added to Workers free plan — message queuing now free
increased Anthropic AI/ML APIs
Claude Opus 4.6 API pricing at $5/$25 per MTok (input/output) — 67% below previous Opus 4/4.1 pricing of $15/$75. Frontier AI model at mid-tier prices

Other Notable Changes (1)

model change X (Twitter) API Gateway
Pay-per-use pricing model introduced alongside existing fixed tiers. Legacy free tier users migrated to pay-per-use with $10 voucher. Free tier effectively reduced to proof-of-concept only (~500 posts/month read, no search)
